With KICKSTART, Hof University of Applied Sciences has launched a funding program that starts at a very early stage of a potential start-up - with the development of ideas and prototypes. Three Ukrainian researchers visited the Institute for Sustainable Water Systems in May as part of the project "German-Ukrainian Strategy for Phosphorus Reduction in the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluent (DeUS-Phor)". During the visit to Germany, the participants agreed to draw up a project proposal for an exchange for internships and master's courses and to submit a joint application to Horizon Europe or Eureka next year. At the beginning of December, a group of students from the "Sustainable Water Management and Engineering" Master's course visited the Hof wastewater treatment plant. Prof. Günter Müller-Czygan, head of the course, showed them the most important equipment, wastewater treatment processes and the SCADA control system during a tour. [more]
