Hof University of Applied Sciences is further expanding its international cooperation: A new double-degree agreement has been concluded with the German-Kazakh University (DKU) and Yessenov University in Aktau. The agreement enables students of engineering and computer science to complete an international degree with a double degree.

In recent years, the Faculties of Computer Science (INF) and Engineering (ING) at Hof University of Applied Sciences have worked intensively on networking with universities in Kazakhstan. The existing contact with DKU was resumed and intensified in 2023. The cooperation with the Institute for Sustainable Engineering (KINI) at DKU has now been officially signed. The study model provides for students to spend the first two years at KINI and the Faculty of Engineering at Yessenov University in Aktau.
This is followed by a year at the DKU in Almaty, before the fourth year of study, including the Bachelor’s thesis, is completed at Hof University of Applied Sciences. This close cooperation not only provides students with a high-quality international degree, but also the opportunity to acquire valuable intercultural and language skills.
The ceremonial signing of the double degree agreement took place during a visit to Yessenov University lasting several days. Among those present were Prof. Berik Akhmetov (President of Yessenov University), Prof. Wolrad Rommel (President of DKU and KINI), Prof. Dr. Andrej Bachmann and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Anke Müller from Hof University of Applied Sciences. In addition to the official ceremony, the agenda included numerous other events: the delegation took part in the traditional Kazakh New Year festival Nauryz, met KINI students and toured the campus and the Faculty of Engineering at Yessenov University.
With this new agreement, Hof University of Applied Sciences is expanding its international network and creating an attractive opportunity for Kazakh students to continue their studies in Germany and expand their career prospects internationally. The university is looking forward to welcoming the first students from this cooperation to the Hof campus and to a successful collaboration with its new partners.”
