Hof University invites you to a symposium on bioplastics – register now!

Following last year’s great success, the Institute for Circular Economy of Bio:Polymers at Hof University of Applied Sciences (ibp) is once again hosting an online symposium on the field of biopolymers on 20 and 21 March. Participation in the bilingual – German and English – event “Bioplastics – Sustainable Solutions for Industry and Science” is free of charge.

The conference, under the technical direction of Institute Director Prof Dr Michael Nase, will focus entirely on the field of bioplastics, highlighting various aspects such as synthesis, processing, application, recycling, composting and the degradation of biopolymers. Presentations and scientific posters can still be submitted for this event. The event is aimed in particular at the bioplastics processing industry, associations, organisations, institutions and research facilities that deal with bioplastics or are involved in sustainable research.

Conference concept

In a first step, submitted presentations will be briefly introduced to all participants via an innovative and interactive presentation system. On the basis of an initial interactive evaluation of the presentation content, the presentation times will be set and the order of the speakers determined. Team leader Kübra Aslan explains:

With this concept, lectures that are particularly in demand can be optimally planned into the schedule and as many participants as possible have the opportunity to hear the respective lecture.”

Kübra Aslan, Team Leader

A total of fifteen presentations and five keynote speeches are planned for both days of the event. In addition, a panel discussion will deal with the topic of “Production, research and application of a bioplastic – limits, possibilities, potentials”. A total of 209 participants from science and industry took part in the online conference the last time it was held in 2022.
