About the textile design course
The variety of textile materials and products is almost unlimited and their innovative further development constantly requires creative solutions.
In the course of the 7-semester bachelor’s degree program in Textile Design, students learn basic design processes, how to work with colors, shapes, surfaces and materials, the design of textile surfaces and application of textile technologies, computer-aided design techniques, theoretical principles and an interdisciplinary understanding of design.
Through the selection of modules and projects, students can set their own priorities, such as linking fashion, product and textile design.
Personal supervision in small groups and comprehensive, technical equipment at the university provide the ideal environment for developing individual skills. A combination of experimental and practical work is the reason for the reputation of the Münchberg textile design program.
About the Communication Design program
The Communication Design program at the small, family-oriented Münchberg campus extends over seven semesters and concludes with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Forms of content production and presentation are developed – with the aim of making it easier for people to recognize, inform and orient themselves in a globalized world. Students design information and make knowledge accessible. An interest in socially relevant topics is therefore a prerequisite for the course.
Collaborative projects in an interdisciplinary teaching prepare students for the working world. Each semester, the university offers a thematic range of digital and classic design projects from society, science, business and culture. Field trips to agencies and companies expand the teaching content of practice-oriented teaching. Classical and current methods, techniques and design tools are introduced in the seminars and students work together in small classes with intensive supervision.
