A little surprise for big summer fun: On Friday, July 24, 2026, Hof University will distribute a total of 500 inflatable water balls at ten outdoor swimming pools in the region. With this initiative, the university hopes to bring joy to children in particular while also expressing its connection to the region.

Each of the ten participating outdoor pools will receive 50 water balls, which will be distributed free of charge to swimmers. Each pool will decide for itself where the balls will be available—depending on local arrangements, they may be distributed by the lifeguard, at the ticket office, or at the concession stand, for example. While supplies last, younger visitors in particular can look forward to this summer surprise.
The balls are available at the following outdoor pools:
Hof District
- Münchberg Outdoor Pool
- Naila Outdoor Pool
- Oberkotzau Terrace Outdoor Pool
- Rehau Outdoor Pool
- Zell Outdoor Pool
Kronach District
- Crana Mare Kronach
- Wallenfels Rafters’ Pool
Wunsiedel District in the Fichtel Mountains
- Langer Teich Forest Pool, Selb
- Outdoor Pool in the Perlenbach Valley, Schönwald
City of Hof
- Hof Outdoor Pool

With this initiative, Hof University of Applied Sciences aims not only to provide fun and games at the outdoor pools but also to promote a zest for life and a sense of regional community. Especially during summer vacation, children and families should be able to enjoy a little extra treat.
Just a few days later, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Hof University will invite prospective students to its Open House on campus. There, visitors will receive comprehensive information about the degree programs, have the opportunity to explore the campus, and receive personalized advice on the application process, academic studies, and career opportunities. In this way, the university is reaching out not only to the youngest guests at the outdoor pools but also to everyone who wants to actively shape their future.
