Hof University of Applied Sciences has been a member of the advisory committee of the Partnership for Democracy in the city of Hof for many years. The federal “Live Democracy!” program has been providing financial support to the city of Hof since 2015 in order to promote democracy, shape diversity and prevent extremism. The associated monitoring committee has now met at Hof University of Applied Sciences.
Our democracy must be filled with new life every day. It needs people who live democratic culture on the ground and shape it. And warm words alone are not enough, which is why “Demokratie leben!” provides financial support
Dr. Katharina Bunzmann, Head Office of the PfD in the city of Hof
There are a total of 30 Partnerships for Democracy (PfD) in Bavaria, 12 of which are based in Upper Franconia alone. These PfDs bring together those responsible from local politics and administration as well as active members of civil society – from clubs and associations to churches and civic activists.
Yesterday, a hybrid meeting of the city of Hof’s monitoring committee took place for the first time at Hof University of Applied Sciences. Participants included representatives from the Jewish Community, the alliance “Hof is colorful, not brown”, the BLLV Upper Franconia, the City of Hof, Hof University of Applied Sciences, the VHS Hofer Land, Caritas, the Catholic Church, the Dean, the Hof Employment Agency, the association “Über den Tellerrand” e.V. and the Youth Forum.
