Guests from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan visit Hof University

From November 15 – 19, Hof University hosted a group of seven representatives from partner universities in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on campus.

Our visitors (mainly representatives of International Offices and teaching staff) came from the following universities:

  • M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University, Kazakhstan
  • Almaty Management University, Kazakhstan
  • International Information Technology University JSC, Kazakhstan
  • Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture, Kyrgyzstan
  • International Ataturk-Alatoo University, Kyrgyzstan

Many discussions were held with the departments and the International Office at Hof University. For the upcoming new Erasmus+ program, new topics and cooperation opportunities were explored. A great interest was expressed in joint teaching activities and double degree programs. In addition, President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann signed two new Memorandums of Understanding.

Hof University fosters intensive cooperations with Kazakhstan since 2017, mostly in the areas of business and IT. The enormous interest in Hof University is mirrored in the mobility figures. Over the course of only a few years, the number of exchange students from Kazakhstan increased significantly, now forming the second-largest group of incoming exchange students at Hof University.

The university systems of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan match nicely with the German system. All of us are not only using the ECTS system but share the same quality standards within the framework of the extended Erasmus+ program. Therefore, we are happy that we can support approximately 12 scholarship holders from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan per year. And we are looking forward to intensifying our cooperation even further”, explains Jörg Noldin, Erasmus+ coordinator at Hof University
