With the start of the next semester, several new lecturers will begin their work at the university. With Prof. Dr. Viktoria Bachmann, an exciting personality will take over the focus of clinical, developmental and organizational psychology at the Faculty of Business. She was already a lecturer at Hof University of Applied Sciences in the summer semester.
The 46-year-old was born in what is now Kyrgyzstan and has lived in Germany since 1993. Hof has been familiar to her since 2014. Here she works as a psychotherapist in private practice. After graduating from high school in Hanau, Dr. Viktoria Bachmann first completed her psychology studies at Philipps University in Marburg. After a stopover in addiction support in Munich, she completed her psychotherapy training at the AWKV Marburg (training and further education institution for clinical behavior therapy) before working as a research assistant for general medicine, preventive and rehabilitative medicine at the Philipps University Marburg from 2008 to 2014. There she was responsible, among other things, for the project “Russian-speaking migrants in primary care”. She subsequently submitted her doctoral thesis on the topic “Intercultural consulting room – doctor-patient interaction from the perspective of patients with a Russian-speaking migrant background and general practitioners. Results of a “mixed- methods” study”.
Before establishing her own practice in Hof, Viktoria Bachmann then worked as a psychological psychotherapist at the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic of the Vitos Clinic Giessen-Marburg from 2011 to 2014. Here she participated in the establishment of the Intercultural Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic.
She chose Hof University as her future field of work for good reason

In her private life, Prof. Dr. Viktoria Bachmann likes to go hiking and enjoys the wide cultural landscape of Hof – she is particularly fond of the Theater Hof.
