Prof. Dr. Johannes Michael has been a professor at the Faculty of Computer Science since 01.03.2023, where he will take over the teaching area of intelligent autonomous systems. The 37-year-old, who comes from Münchberg, studied technomathematics at the University of Bayreuth from 2006 to 2011. His path then took him to the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich for six years as a research assistant and doctoral student, where he successfully completed his doctorate on “Optimal Control in Vertical Vehicle Dynamics” in 2017.
Prior to his appointment at Hof University of Applied Sciences in the summer semester of 2023, Prof. Michael worked as a software developer and team leader at Valeo Schalter und Sensoren GmbH in the Driver Assistance Research department in Kronach.
Prof. Michael, what are your first impressions of Hof University?
I already know the region and Hof in particular. I would like to get to know the university even better in the coming weeks and months. I’ve already had a great reception during the appointment process and my first meetings on campus.
What are you particularly looking forward to?
Returning to teaching, new challenges, and many exciting and interesting projects with my future students.
