The University Council has elected Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann, who has led the university since 2002, for a fourth term. The University Council is the highest body of the university, comparable to the supervisory board of a company. Its tasks include electing the university’s management.
Confirmed for fourth term of office
“I am very pleased with the trust placed in me,” said Prof. Dr. Jürgen Lehmann, who has led the university for 18 years. “In addition to the perennial demographic challenge, the main focus is on the further orientation of our scientific enterprise associated with a new Higher Education Act, as well as the right balance between digital innovations and the social concerns of the university’s members in teaching and administration. Future-oriented new study programs in Kronach and Selb as well as an intensification of research, among others in the field of biopolymers, are further focal points of my new term of office.”
