Donation: Freshmen receive new university T-shirts

Togetherness counts: The approximately 1,000 first-semester students at Hof University in the winter semester 2022/23 have now been provided with new university T-shirts. The Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der Hochschule Hof e.V. (Society of Friends and Sponsors of Hof University of Applied Sciences) had made this possible with a generous donation of €15,000.00. The classic look of the T-shirts had emerged from a design competition in which all students could submit designs.

Happy about the modern functional shirts: Prof. Dr. Dietmar Wolff (Vice President Teaching at Hof University of Applied Sciences), University President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.. Jürgen Lehmann, Johanna Kimler (Vice President Teaching), student representative Jadwiga Schirren and Dr. Dorothee Strunz (Chairwoman of the Society of Friends and Sponsors of Hof University of Applied Sciences). From four final designs, a winning design was chosen by student vote, whose creator Theresa Reiß is currently studying textile design at the Münchberg site. The goal is clear

The T-shirts should create a piece of identification with one’s own university – it doesn’t matter whether someone is doing their bachelor’s or master’s, whether they come from the region or are one of our international students, or at which location they study.”

The university’s sponsoring association was pleased to support the campaign at the request of university president Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann: “Not only is the look successful, but the T-shirts themselves are sporty and attractively cut.”

Dr. Dorothee Strunz, Chairwoman of the Society of Friends and Supporters of Hof University of Applied Sciences, adds

The students in Hof, Münchberg, Selb and Kronach can be justifiably proud of their university. They can now also express this on a wide variety of occasions.”

She continued, “For us as the board of the sponsoring society, it was also particularly important that these are functional shirts that can be worn by students at sporting events and send out the message “things are going sporty at this university!””

A total of 1000 sports shirts were ordered, 500 each for men and women in different sizes. The issue dates will be communicated to students via the new Ersti app developed for the winter semester 2022/23.
