Virtual info event for more digital competence in the health and social care sector

With a virtual information event on June 27, 2023, Hof University of Applied Sciences and “pulsnetz.de – Mensch und Technik im Gemeinwesen” (People and Technology in the Community) are offering employees in the healthcare and social services sectors customized training to strengthen their own digital skills. Specific requirements and questions from the respective professional practice will also be addressed. The free offer is aimed primarily at small and medium-sized companies and institutions.

The research group “Innovative Health Care” of the Institute for Information Systems at Hof University of Applied Sciences (iisys) is part of the future center pulsnetz.de – Mensch und Technik im Gemeinwesen (pulsnetz MuTiG). Under the leadership of Diakonisches Werk Baden-Württemberg, the researchers are working with other partners to advance digitization in health and social services. The aim of the project, which is currently based in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia, is to advance digitization in the social economy, particularly in outpatient and inpatient facilities for elderly care and integration assistance.

“Trucks for digitization” on the road

The project is now best known for the associated “Trucks of Digitization (TruDis),” which are trucks equipped with digital equipment and applications that travel to interested facilities:

They allow employees and managers to experience digital technologies on site at their own institution, to understand their opportunities and risks, and to develop their own informed attitude toward them.”

Prof. Dr. -Ing. Dietmar Wolff

And further: “At the same time, we reduce fear of contact and make it possible to gain initial experience of one’s own,” says Prof. Dr. Ing. Dietmar Wolff, who heads the project at Hof University of Applied Sciences. With in-depth consultations lasting up to ten days, the participating institutions are empowered to design, launch and implement their own initial digitization projects: “From reviewing existing processes to developing a tailored digitization strategy to initiating initial digitization projects – we help,” say project staff members Désirée Neeb and Sophia Giegold.

Empowerment for first digital projects

Due to a broad and diverse consortium, “pulsnetz MuTiG” is able to provide support for technical, organizational, business and professional issues. “We teach executives and employees in the healthcare and social sectors key skills in dealing with digital technologies as part of innovative learning offerings. Among other things, we use our Internet platform for this purpose, which we are developing into a central point of contact for information, knowledge transfer, exchange and learning,” continues Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dietmar Wolff. This work will be flanked by scientifically based market studies on key technologies such as voice control or virtual reality.

Experienced trainers accompany step by step

As part of an in-depth consultation, experienced trainers enable employees and managers to develop and successfully implement their own, individual digitization strategy. The three- to six-hour training with TruDi in workshop format offers the opportunity to learn about and experience modern technologies for your everyday work. Together with experts, the 8-10 participants each try out technologies and reflect on ideas for everyday work in your institution.

Registration and booking

The offers are valid until the end of 2026. The virtual information event for Bavaria will take place on 27.6.2023 from 11:00-12:00. You can register for it via email: yvonne.grossmann@iisys.de
