Starting in the winter semester of 2022/2023, prospective students will be able to put together their own personal course of study using the Engineering Faculty’s course generator, which is the only one of its kind in Germany. There are 156 different combination options to choose from.
At the beginning of the winter semester 2022/2023, the new modular study program in engineering will start at Hof University of Applied Sciences. The special feature of this degree program is that it is geared to the very individual interests of the students.
Planning your personal study program with the study program generator
Prospective students have three options for getting started. If you already know which field of study is right for you, you can use the Study Program Generator to select a fixed study program. The following fields of study can be selected: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Materials Engineering.
However, the study program generator also offers the possibility of compiling the study program completely according to one’s own interests. For this purpose, prospective students can select a Major 1, i.e. one of the five fields of study, from the third semester onwards. This content-related and thematic focus is supplemented by Major 2, i.e. the study focus, with a second field of knowledge. From the fifth semester onwards, students can then select a minor, i.e. subjects to supplement their studies. In this way, they can deepen their focus of study, acquire even broader specialist knowledge and in this way “look beyond their own nose”
However, with the help of the study program generator, prospective students can also create a study program that is completely oriented to their own topics and interests
This gives prospective students a total of 156 different combination options.

Application deadline starts in May 2022
After prospective students have created their individual study program, they have the option of using the Study Program Generator to look at other possible combinations, or they can apply directly for the modular engineering study program. The application website is linked directly to the generator. This means that interested parties can put together their own personal degree program and then apply right away. About the Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering is the second largest faculty at Hof University of Applied Sciences. The approximately 900 students are supervised by 39 professors, 3 subject teachers and 19 laboratory engineers at the Hof, Münchberg and Kronach campuses.
