Record number of international exchange and double degree students at Hof University of Applied Sciences

Hof University of Applied Sciences is delighted to have set a new record: the current winter semester has seen the highest number of international exchange and double degree students to date. At the start of the semester, the university welcomed numerous students from all over the world who are now beginning their studies in Hof.

As part of the Orientation Weeks, the new arrivals were warmly welcomed and were able to familiarize themselves with both the university and their new surroundings over the past few weeks. The varied program was organized by the International Office/Welcome Center of Hof University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the International Student Network (ISN).

In addition to information events on studying and campus life, the program included numerous leisure activities to make it easier to settle in and promote cultural exchange. Guided tours of the city, joint evenings and get-togethers offered the opportunity to make new friends. There was also plenty to discover beyond the city limits: excursions took students to Bayreuth, Dresden and Chemnitz, where they were able to experience the regional diversity of Germany.

One reason for the encouraging rise in numbers is the university’s increased focus on Latin America and Kazakhstan. Through targeted measures and the expansion of international cooperation, Hof University of Applied Sciences has endeavored to diversify its student body in recent years. There are now clear signs of success: visits and cooperation meetings with partner universities in Mexico, Peru, Brazil and Kazakhstan have helped to increase interest in studying in Hof over the last two years.

This semester, numerous students from these countries have been welcomed to the university – both in the exchange program and in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. Further joint projects and programs with these countries are also planned for the future, such as COIL initiatives (Collaborative Online International Learning) and new double degree programs.

With its constantly growing international network, diverse exchange opportunities and a warm welcome program, Hof University of Applied Sciences is sending a clear signal of internationality and intercultural openness.
