At the end of June, Dr. Harvey Harbach, research group leader at the Institute for Sustainable Water Systems (inwa), welcomed Ukrainian researchers to the university as part of the project "Integration of the 'sponge city' concept to develop a model for the sustainable restoration and management of water resources in areas of Ukraine affected by military impacts (IKoMoWa)". The aim was to jointly explore prospects for scientific cooperation. [more]

Three Ukrainian researchers visited the Institute for Sustainable Water Systems in May as part of the project "German-Ukrainian Strategy for Phosphorus Reduction in the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluent (DeUS-Phor)". During the visit to Germany, the participants agreed to draw up a project proposal for an exchange for internships and master's courses and to submit a joint application to Horizon Europe or Eureka next year. Hof University of Applied Sciences has been organizing an International Teaching Week (ITW) every two years for over ten years. Lecturers from all over the world come to Hof for this event.
The university's more than 130 partner universities also regularly offer similar formats and invite international guest lecturers. In May, Martin Lochmüller took up an offer from Babeș-Bolyai University in Romania and took part in the ITW there. [more]

Hof University of Applied Sciences and the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) have been working closely together for six years now. Since the end of 2021, the two educational institutions have been linked by the so-called HELD project of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
