Textile training: Delegation from Uzbekistan visits the Münchberg campus

At the beginning of March, University President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann welcomed a visit to the university’s Münchberg campus: a 14-strong delegation from the textile universities in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan learned about the German education system and the study opportunities at Hof University of Applied Sciences in the field of textiles. The visit took place as part of a project to promote and strengthen the German-Uzbek textile business and education partnership on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The university offers a sound engineering education at the Münchberg campus with the international Bachelor’s degree in Innovative Textiles and the Master’s degree in Sustainable Textiles, which is also taught in English and deals with the challenges of the global textile industry, such as responsible production and environmental protection, as well as legal regulations and labor rights.

During a tour of the campus, the delegation participants were also given an insight into the textile laboratories, the machine hall and research at the state-of-the-art technical center with a focus on textile technology and air conditioning. Afterwards, the Uzbek guests and the representatives of Hof University of Applied Sciences retired for consultations to explore possible cooperation opportunities, such as the exchange of students and professors.

We are very pleased about the visit and the interest of our guests from Uzbekistan in our university and especially in our innovative, internationally oriented textile courses at the Münchberg campus.”
