The Russian war of aggression on Ukraine, which began in February of this year, marks a turning point for peace and security in Europe.

Given the long history of the Ukrainian war and the wars that took place on European soil between 1974 and 2020, this year’s Europe Forum will focus on the following questions: What happened? Why is this war in particular so close to our hearts? What does the future hold for Europe, and what lessons do we learn? To this end, the Europa Forum at Hof University of Applied Sciences brings together different points of view on one podium and attempts to provide answers from scientific, political, military, legal and media perspectives.

The European Union is at a crossroads. The decades of peace in Europe can no longer be taken for granted. Let us use the Europe Forum to explore together the question of whether the seedling of a common European security and defense policy will finally grow into a tree. Take advantage of this opportunity and learn about this highly topical issue first-hand from renowned experts. We look forward to welcoming you as our guests at the 7th Europe Forum at Hof University of Applied Sciences.”

Prof. Dr. Peter Schäfer, Professor of European Law and long-time organizer of the Europa-Forum
