Campus-Sport: Come by and join us – Fit through the new semester!

The summer semester of 2022 will also see the relaunch of a comprehensive sports program at the Hof campus. And there really is something for everyone – whether hobby, recreational or professional athletes. Campuls-digital” gives you an overview of the various sports events and how, where and when you should register for them.

Interested students can choose their own personal workout, the right fitness course or their favorite team sport from around 20 different sports.

The sports offer – The perfect balance to your studies

From Monday, April 04, the sports hall is open again from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. for all those interested in sports. Every day from 4:30 p.m., the team around Gerhard Ried, the representative for university sports, offers various sports events.

Monday: In addition to volleyball for beginners and recreational players, table tennis, floorball and badminton are also on the program. Sweating is pre-programmed during the high-intensity Crossfit training – we just say: bye bye excess pounds.

Tuesday: If you couldn’t get a place at badminton on Monday, no problem, 2 more courses are available on Tuesday. As well as table tennis, men’s soccer and basketball. Those who prefer to be out in nature can take part in the 60-minute Nordic Walking training. Gerhard Ried will get everyone sweating at the latest with the abdominal-legs-buttocks activity program – so don’t forget your towel. Those who want something more exotic can take part in the self-defense course / weapon fighting, a historical martial art with swords.

Wednesday: A mixed program is offered on Wednesday – here especially all team sportsmen get their money’s worth – no matter if it’s soccer mixed, volleyball, table tennis, dodgeball or basketball. Those who would rather work out completely for an hour should take part in the STEP Aerobic Basic Training, and those who want to do something good for their back will enjoy the Back Fit course.

Thursday: At the end of the week there is also a lot going on in the sports hall. In addition to the classic sporting events such as badminton, table tennis and soccer, you can really work out at the Crossfit or Zumba classes. Yoga is more relaxed, and if you want to explore Hof and the surrounding area a little more closely, the running club is predestined for you.

Starting from 02. May then also again the Mountainbikes are unpacked and Fichtelgebirge and Franconia forest thereby explored.

Register, sign up and get started

Registration for athletic events is open each week beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday. Registration with your university email address is required. Click here to register and sign up.

Due to the large number of students and the limited number of places, you should register or sign up for the desired event in good time.

Important: Access to the sports hall is only possible with a transponder. For a rental fee, this can be picked up at the info desk of the University of Public Service (HföD).

Rules for the sports hall

However, there are some rules you should always keep in mind. Even if the decided relaxations in dealing with Covid-19 also allow again a problem-free access without proof to the sports facilities on campus, a responsible handling with and in the sports facility should be ensured. Used sports equipment should always be disinfected, in case of cold symptoms, training and sports should be avoided in any case. All trainers are still instructed to pay attention to this. More information about the hygiene concept and the responsible use of the hall and the equipment can be found here.

If you have any questions or requests regarding university sports, please contact Gerhard Ried: gerhard.ried@aiv.hfoed.de.
