Bernd Sibler, Minister of State
He added: “What you have achieved for Hof University in the past 18 years is more than impressive. With foresight and a keen sense of the challenges, developments and issues of the future, you have developed Hof into a university location that radiates beyond the region. For years, you have been contributing your expertise and experience to the further development of the Bavarian higher education landscape. I am very pleased that we will now continue this trusting collaboration for another six years.”
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann stated
It is equally a great pleasure and honor for me to be able to accompany Hof University for another six years. The recent positive development of our region is strongly linked to the success of our educational institution and we would like to continue on this path in research and teaching. “

And further: “Naturally, topics such as digitalization and interdisciplinarity, but also sustainability and ecology are high on the agenda. We are an internationally oriented green tech university whose profile needs to be further sharpened. I will be happy to make my contribution to this.”
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann first took office as president of Hof University in 2002. In the past three terms of office, he has continued to shape “Green Tech” as the university’s focus profile. Lehmann drove the process of digitalization in both teaching and administration at an early stage – long before the COVID 19 pandemic.
“Under his presidency, Hof University became the first university of applied sciences in
Bavaria to receive system accreditation. He is a strong and reliable contact person
for and in the region. He has provided significant impetus for the development of the new,
planned University Innovation Act”. (Press release of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Art).
