The biggest festival in the region: The Hofer Volksfest starts on July 25, 2025!

It will soon be that time again: the ten-day Hof Volksfest under the motto “Do triffst fei alla!” (“You’ll meet everyone!”) will take place from Friday, July 25 to Sunday, August 3, 2025 on the Volksfestplatz between Nailaer Straße and Freiheitshalle/Bahnhof Neuhof. The biggest festival in the region is an absolute summer highlight with lots of variety – from action on the rides to regional cuisine, everything is on offer. In cooperation with the city of Hof, we inform you in advance about the highlights!

The festival kicks off with the big parade on Friday, July 25, which starts at 5 p.m. at Hof Town Hall. Around 3,600 participants from 63 groups – including numerous music and traditional costume clubs – will parade ceremoniously through the city center to the festival grounds. The parade is accompanied by music from the Vogtland flag guard, several brass bands and, for the first time, the traditional costume musicians from Hof near Salzburg. Afterwards, Mayor Eva Döhla taps the first beer barrel in the marquee and officially opens the festival – accompanied by a hearty stand concert.

Highlights with rides, culinary delights and music program

Once again this year, visitors can look forward to numerous novelties: the “Sky Fall” is the world’s highest transportable freefall tower on the square, while the “Hero Fighter” promises pure thrills at 100 km/h and 4g. The “Beach Monster” and the “Pirates Adventure” adventure run are more family-friendly. The “Glaswerk” mirror maze rounds off the new offer. Classics such as the wild water ride, the music express, bumper cars, the wave flier and the “Movie Star” Ferris wheel provide the usual pure funfair feeling. There are also games booths such as can throwing, duck fishing and the newly introduced ring toss.

In culinary terms, the Hof Volksfest lives up to its reputation as a gourmet mile. From fried sausages and steaks to fish sandwiches, crêpes, langos and pasta from the Parmesan loaf to vegetarian alternatives, there is something for every taste. Those with a sweet tooth can look forward to chocolate fruits, waffles, ice cream and much more. When it comes to beer, the festival hosts focus on regional variety: Meinel-Bräu in the festival tent, Scherdel in the beer garden. There will also be wine from the Hoffmann winery and cocktail bars such as “Grüne Bar” and “Heidis Treff”. A pint of beer costs 11.80 euros this year.

In addition to almost 4,000 participants, thousands are expected to line the route for the parade. Image: Hof city media office;

Special attention will also be paid to international and regional partnerships. In addition to musical guests from the friendly towns of Hof near Salzburg, delegations from Hof am Leithaberge and Hof im Westerwald will also be in attendance. For the first time since the town twinned with Ogden (since 1954), the entire town council from Ogden will also be attending – a sign of living town friendship. Music is provided by numerous bands in the marquee and in the beer garden – everything from brass band music to hits and party classics is represented.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly, the police, fire department, THW, BRK, building yard and city administration ensure safety and order. Travel to the event is also well organized: Neuhof train station is in the immediate vicinity, and there are also festival buses, parking spaces and a Park&Ride service.

In the festival tent at the Hofer Volksfest, you will be taken on a short musical journey through brass music, hits and party bands. After the tapping of the beer, the Teuschnitz town band will kick things off in classical style. The following evenings promise pure atmosphere with acts such as Echt Stark, Geile Zeit, Radspitz, Partyteufel, Stoasberger Lumpen, Die Egertaler and Highline. Everything from traditional folk music to modern party hits – ideal for an evening with fellow students with pretzels, beer and a great atmosphere.
