CONTACTA 2022 has started – with 90 exhibitors and in presence!

CONTACTA 2022 started on Tuesday evening with a teacher training and the official kick-off event. After two years, it will again be held in the presence of the Hof University of Applied Sciences. On September 28 and 29 (from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in each case), around 2,000 future high school graduates from the entire region are expected, who will be able to find out about possible career paths and career opportunities from 90 exhibiting companies as well as 85 managers and employees of Hof University of Applied Sciences. At around 170 presentations and guided tours, the young people can gain insights into a wide variety of occupations and fields of study.

Always the highlight of the CONTACTA kick-off: the awarding of the best P-seminars of the Upper Franconian high schools – here the P-seminar “Sensory Trail” at the Hochfranken High School Naila by the Entrepreneur Initiative Hochfranken, represented by Dr. Dorothee Strunz (r.) and Jürgen Werner (l.)

“Youth in times of crisis. How can educators and trainers help?” was the topic at the well-attended teacher training course, which was aimed particularly at teaching and training staff. In particular, the training focused on the young people’s attitude to life, their psychological resilience, and their school and training situation. Practical tips for dealing with affected young people were also provided.

Around 150 guests from schools, business and service clubs attended the official kick-off event in the Rehau Audimax. The core of the event, moderated by Rainer Krauß, was a panel discussion on the topic “Generation Corona – what impact does the pandemic have on young people’s decisions for the future?” Here, student Hannah Zißler (Q12, Luisenburg-Gymnasium Wunsiedel) and student Yannik Pöllmann (industrial engineering, Hof University of Applied Sciences) gave insights into their world of experience in career orientation. Guido Baumgärtner, Chief Human Resources Officer of Sandler AG, the teacher David Friedrich and Prof. Dr. Anke Müller, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Hof University of Applied Sciences, also contributed the perspectives of companies, high schools and universities on the topic. Greetings came from District Administrator Dr. Oliver Bär, Mayor Eva Döhla and OStD Stefan Klein, who stood in for OStD Dr. Harald Vorleuter, Ministerial Representative for grammar schools in Upper Franconia, at short notice.

The highlight of the event was the awarding of the P-Seminar Prize 2022 to three outstanding P-Seminars and projects of the schools by the Entrepreneur Initiative Hochfranken. Prize winners were

  • P-Seminar “Sensory Trail” at Hochfranken-Gymnasium Naila
  • P-Seminar “The Lions’ Den” at Walter-Gropius-Gymnasium Selb
  • P-Seminar “Digital Sandbox” at Luisenburg-Gymnasium Wunsiedel
