Once again this year, the city of Hof is organizing an evening party to welcome our new students for the winter semester 2024/25 to their city of study. All newcomers are therefore cordially invited to the Hof Theater. The Managing Director of Hof City Marketing, Carsten Reichel, provides you with all the necessary information in an interview with “campuls-digital”!
Mr. Reichel, why is the city of Hof hosting another welcome party?
“A good welcoming culture is very important to us. We at the City of Hof are delighted to welcome so many new students every year and want to make their arrival as pleasant as possible. So what could be better than welcoming the students with a welcome party and giving them some really useful information about the city of Hof?”
The venue is the Hof Theater. What’s the best way to get there?
“You can hardly miss our Hof Theater. It’s directly opposite the Freiheitshalle, where many events and concerts take place. Behind the Freiheitshalle, in the parking lot, the Hofer Volksfest always takes place at the end of July – that’s another valuable local knowledge for the new students.
Shuttle buses are organized for our welcome party, which take the students to the theater after the introductory day from 7.00 pm. Of course, the route from the university can also be easily covered on foot (approx. 20 minutes), by bike or by public transport.”
What can the new first semester students expect on site?
“In addition to a small regional snack – for vegetarians too, of course – and good drinks, the Ravers Nature DJ team will be there, who have already brought Mayday and other big events to the boil. So hopefully nothing will stand in the way of a happy evening.”
How important are students in general as a target group for Hof’s city marketing?
“Students are close to the city’s heart. After all, they will be living here in the city for the next few years. They should quickly feel at home and enjoy being in the city. It’s much easier to study in a pleasant environment.”
In a nutshell: what is your message to the new arrivals?
“Welcome to Hof, welcome to our two universities. Hof is a cozy city, with short distances and people who love their city. We want to pass this on to the students. And who knows, maybe a few students will stay in our city after their time at the universities. But today we’re celebrating first!”
