As the organizational centers of the science system, the universities that make up the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) carry out the majority of scientific research in Germany. The aim of the research map is to record the diversity of these research activities at universities and make them easily accessible. The HRK presents the research priorities of universities and universities of applied sciences on two separate maps. Both maps have an identical structure and are also available in English.

The research map pursues a number of objectives. By presenting the focal points of research at universities in Germany in a standardized and structured way, it brings them to the attention of a broad national and international public. The map also serves to support the marketing and internationalization strategies of universities. The research map is therefore an ideal starting point for anyone who wants to find out about the diversity of research at universities in Germany. It also offers the opportunity to make contact with the universities, names contact persons and refers to further websites.
Hof University of Applied Sciences is also listed on this map with three key research areas: Information Systems with Prof. Dr. René Peinl as contact person, Materials Science Prof. Dr. Frank Ficker and Water, Energy and Sustainable Resource Use with Prof. Dr. Tobias Plessing.
