Hof University of Applied Sciences thanked the Student Environmental Initiative Hof e.V. during a short meeting within the framework of the applicable hygiene rules. The association of students, which is based at the university, normally organizes garbage collection campaigns or series of talks on environmental topics. During the Corona pandemic, however, the committed young people supplied up to 50 households of elderly citizens with drinks and food over a period of one year, thus helping to limit risk contacts.
“In this way, you have not only prevented possible contagions and illnesses, but furthermore set a remarkable example of compassion in a difficult time. I am really impressed and very taken with this great commitment – you can be very proud of this achievement,” said university president Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann to the representatives of the initiative.
You can be very proud of your achievement – an example of humanity in times that are not easy!
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann
The Hof Student Environmental Initiative was founded in 2015 and currently has 35 members from a wide range of nations. The commitment to older fellow citizens is to be continued in any case until the end of the pandemic.
