How do you get started with a doctorate? What motivates doctoral candidates to keep going – and what helps when things get difficult? These and many other questions are the focus of the event “Paths to a doctorate – An evening full of insights and experiences”, which will take place on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Institute for Information Systems (iisys) at Hof University of Applied Sciences.

Everyone who is interested in doing a doctorate or is already in the middle of the doctoral process is invited: current and prospective doctoral students, Master’s students intending to do a doctorate, academic staff and supervisors. Participants can expect a varied program of inspiring lectures, practical experience reports and plenty of space for personal exchange.
“The event not only provides valuable tips and realistic insights into the everyday life of a doctorate, but also creates an ideal platform for networking – an important building block for the academic path.”
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dietmar Wolff, Vice President Teaching at Hof University of Applied Sciences
