The Hof Study Fair took place for the 14th time on March 9, 2024. The student advisors from 23 colleges and universities were on hand to answer pupils’ questions and addressed specific topics in presentations: For example, the degree courses for teaching, medicine and psychology were in great demand, as were the presentations on joining the police or the German Armed Forces. The advice on financing studies in accordance with BAföG was also very popular.
“We were delighted that so many parents took the opportunity to get information,” says Carola Meyer from the careers advice service at the employment agency. And Melanie Fiedler-Zapf from Student Recruiting at Hof University’s Student Advisory Service points out that the study fair has long since attracted attention beyond the region:
“There were not only visitors from Upper Franconia, but also from Saxony, Thuringia and even Saxony-Anhalt”

The representatives of the participating universities were also very positive: “The colleagues from the student advisory services were constantly busy at the information stands. The good discussions and the targeted questions were praised,” reports Armin Schmidt from the Hof Careers Advisory Service. And Danielle Müller from the state school counseling service adds: “The colleges and universities
Universities are very happy to come to Hof. They appreciate the good organization, the pleasant atmosphere and the university, which presented itself as modern, spacious and open”.
The next study day will take place in February 2025 and will be organized in the proven manner as a joint project of Hof University of Applied Sciences, the State School Advisory Service for Upper Franconia and the Careers Advisory Service of the Bayreuth-Hof Employment Agency.
