During a small ceremony at Hof University of Applied Sciences, lecturers Prof. Dr. Jürgen Kemper and Prof. Dr. Maximilian Walter were given a well-deserved retirement. In the presence of university president Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.. Jürgen Lehmann, Dean Prof. Dr. Jens Kirchner and colleagues, they were thanked for their many years of service to the Faculty of Economic Sciences.
“Professors Kemper and Walter were important lecturers for our university . With their high level of practical knowledge, in the fields of business law, economics and business administration, they have always prepared students optimally for the professional world. I am glad to have had such colleagues in our university team. For their retirement, I wish them both only the very best.”

About the people
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Kemper was born in Duisburg (North Rhine-Westphalia) in 1958. After passing his second state law examination in Rhineland-Palatinate, he completed his doctorate at the University of Trier. From 1997 to 2010, he was a specialist attorney for labor law; since March 1, 2010, he has been lecturing at Hof University of Applied Sciences in the fields of labor law and private commercial law.
“I have particularly fond memories of the moot courts. Here, students were able to practice with “real” judges in simulated court hearings how to prepare pleadings to a court and, in particular, to practice their appearance in a court hearing.”

Plans for retirement
The contact to colleagues, but also to students, will probably be missed by both of them in the future. Nevertheless, there are already plans for retirement:
“To become a flaneur – that is my personal goal for the hopefully many, many more years in retirement.”
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Kemper
