Hof University of Applied Sciences is represented with an AI-based digital learning assistant as one of nine in-depth investigated use cases in the study “AI in studying and teaching – use cases and conditions for success of the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung”. The study was compiled by the HIS Institute for Higher Education Development (HIS-HE) and is based on a total of 77 practical examples submitted.

The project “LISA” aims to provide individual support for students preparing for exams. With the help of generative AI, students can enter questions formulated in their own words, which are analyzed by the system and answered with appropriate feedback generated by the AI. In addition, students’ own materials can be integrated to create a personalized learning environment.
The study particularly praises the tool’s high level of practical benefit and its easy integration into existing learning processes. The institutional anchoring of the project as part of the university’s overarching digitalization strategy was also positively highlighted. “The use of AI serves a wide range of applications and opens up new scope for teaching, learning, support and advice,” the study states.
With the digital learning assistant, Hof University of Applied Sciences shows how AI technology can be used in a targeted manner to make learning processes more individual, efficient and successful. The complete study and the accompanying use case catalog are available online via the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung.
