The Virtual University of Bavaria offers various programs that provide financial support for the development of digital learning materials for your own teaching and third mission. An instructional designer is available at Hof University of Applied Sciences to assist you with the application process and support you in the media didactic design.

Publicly accessible online courses on science communication with partner universities (max. €37,000 in funding)
Submission deadline: April 30, 2026

SMART

vhb: Development
45-minute blended learning units (up to 10 units eligible for funding, max. €30,000 in funding)

CLASSIC

vhb: Development
Curricular creditable online courses with a partner university (max. €85,000 in funding)

The Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb) is an association of all Bavarian universities aimed at strengthening digital, cross-university teaching. It offers flexible online courses and self-study courses to supplement university studies. The aim is to improve study conditions, promote innovative teaching concepts, and make university knowledge freely accessible in order to strengthen education, participation, and permeability in the education system.
