25 years of service: Congratulations to laboratory engineer Jürgen Ott

Jürgen Ott has been working in the Faculty of Computer Science since January 1, 2002, initially as a project engineer and since July 1, 2004 as a laboratory engineer. Since then, he has played a key role in supervising and designing the laboratories and is involved in cross-university events such as Girls’ Day, the Open Day and the Long Night of Science for the Faculty of Computer Science.

in 1986, he began his training as a skilled worker in warehousing, transportation and handling technology. This was followed by a period full of personal initiative: the path via the evening school to university entrance qualification, a degree in computer science in Zwickau with a focus on business informatics. Jürgen Ott finally came to Hof on August 1, 2001 via the Virtual University of Bavaria.

He was a member of the Staff Council between 2016 and 2021.

Dear Jürgen, you are a contact person, advisor and enabler for many of us. You work reliably in the background – but your work shines far ahead. For your performance, your loyalty, your humanity – and for 25 years that you can look back on with pride, I say thank you on behalf of the Faculty of Computer Science! We hope – and I say consciously: we wish – that many more years will follow.”
