DIE ZEIT publishes the latest results of the university ranking from the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE), which is considered one of the most renowned rankings in the field of studies and thus an important source of information for prospective students, in its study guide 2023/24 and on the internet portal HeyStudium.de. In addition to facts in the areas of study, teaching and research, the ranking includes numerous judgments by students on the study conditions of various degree programs. Hof University of Applied Sciences received excellent ratings for 5 fields of study.
In the CHE University Ranking, study programs at more than 300 academies, colleges and universities throughout Germany were graded by students. This year, law, economics and business informatics in particular were re-evaluated. For the first time, students in these subjects also gave their verdict on digital teaching elements.
Business informatics and business psychology with top marks

But also the laboratories and workshops such as the “MakerSpace” of the Hof University of Applied Sciences, a workshop for tinkering and inventing, are highly appreciated by the students.
Standard period of study easily achievable
Hof University of Applied Sciences also scores highly for its support of students studying abroad, for which it receives a “very good” rating from the Business Information Systems program. In addition, students in this degree program also appreciate the IT infrastructure on campus and the excellent equipment in the university library. In the fields of business administration, business law and industrial engineering, students are particularly satisfied with the fact that a degree is easily attainable in a standard period of study.
University President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann on the results:
“The CHE ranking for the fields of law, economics and business informatics once again confirms the outstanding quality of our teaching and shows that students feel very much in good hands with us. Qualitative surveys like this are always a very valuable parameter for our work.”
