The following service anniversaries were celebrated recently:
Doreen Rustler
Doreen Rustler had studied business administration at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau when she applied to the Hof University of Applied Sciences, which had been founded only two years earlier, before she finished her studies in May 1996. “The job advertised was that of a faculty assistant in the Faculty of Economics. She was also hired immediately after her interview and receipt of her diploma, on Oct. 1, 1996,” recalls Chancellor Dagmar Pechstein.
Ms. Rustler’s activities in this initial period initially included assisting the Dean, Prof. Walter. Here she was particularly concerned with lecturers, excursions and public relations. Since the beginning of her work at this time, she has also been in close contact with the Abi advisors at the employment agencies in Upper Franconia.
Later, she moved to the International Office, where she has since been responsible for general student advising. In addition, she designed the study guide and remained involved in public relations. She established good contacts with the high schools and technical colleges in the region, where she regularly holds office hours for students. Her responsibilities also include appearances at training and study fairs.
With Doreen Rustler, we honor a woman who has helped shape the fortunes of our university almost from the beginning. She is highly appreciated by students and colleagues because of her high level of competence and experience, but also because of her helpful and friendly manner.”
Dagmar Pechstein, Chancellor of Hof University of Applied Sciences
