Hof University of Applied Sciences is kicking off the 2026/2027 winter semester with 915 first-year students. This brings the total number of students enrolled at the Hof, Münchberg, Selb, and Kronach campuses, as well as at the Bamberg learning center, to more than 3,800. This represents an increase of just under 100 students compared to the previous year.

This year, degree programs that combine technical, digital, and business skills are particularly in demand. Among the bachelor’s programs, Engineering Science, Information Systems for Public Administration, and Business Administration are seeing especially strong growth. At the master’s level as well, there is strong demand for future-oriented fields of study: AI-Driven Supply Chain Management, Applied Research in Computer Science, and Digitalization & Innovation are among the programs experiencing the strongest growth. The new nursing specialization in Kronach and Bamberg is also developing well.
Focus on Technology, Digitalization, and Business
The trend in enrollment figures thus reveals a clear pattern: Students are increasingly interested in degree programs that combine technical knowledge with digitalization, artificial intelligence, business, and specific fields of application. At the same time, interdisciplinary degree programs that prepare students for changes in businesses and public institutions are gaining importance.
“Our current enrollment figures clearly show the skills young people want to acquire for their professional futures. Hof University of Applied Sciences therefore consistently aligns its teaching with these developments. We want to equip our students with precisely the technical and interdisciplinary skills they need in a rapidly changing world of work.”
University President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann

Through its academic programs, Hof University of Applied Sciences combines academic training with a strong practical focus. The growing demand for technical and digital degree programs aligns with developments in the job market: Companies and public institutions need specialists who understand technological advancements and are also capable of translating them into concrete applications.
