Under the name “HofHaltig”, the Hof Autumn Market has been presenting itself in a new guise since last year. The aim is to turn Hof’s city center into a meeting place for regional traders, manufacturers, makers and initiatives in order to inform and raise awareness about the topic of sustainability. At “HofHaltig 2023”, visitors will again be given the opportunity to learn about a more sustainable lifestyle. Hof University of Applied Sciences will be represented with three lectures.
- The beginning makes on Saturday at 11 o’clock Prof. Dr. René Peinl, director of the institute for information systems of the university yard. In his lecture “Resource-efficient AI – Training and using large language models with small resources”, he will address one of the most sought-after topics of all at the moment.
- Also on Saturday, but at 1 p.m., the topic “Local heating for all: How Hof University of Applied Sciences is bundling Bavaria’s local heating industry” is on the agenda. The speaker for this topic is Anton Sack, research associate at the Institute for Hydrogen and Energy Technology (iwe).
- The supporting program of “HofHaltig” will then conclude on Sunday at 5 p.m. with a lecture by Prof. Günter Müller-Czygan. He reports under the title “Sustainable sponge region Upper Franconia – solutions for an effective handling of heat and heavy rain” from the current developments in his research area.
The venue for all three lectures is the Hof Central Kino (Altstadt 8).
