Hof University of Applied Sciences and the District Hospitals of Middle Franconia aim to strengthen nursing education

Hof University of Applied Sciences and the Mittelfranken District Hospitals have signed a cooperation agreement to promote nursing care and the academic development of the nursing profession in a sustainable manner. The goal of the joint agreement is to establish a forward-looking educational initiative in the region through close integration of research, teaching, and clinical practice. This initiative is driven by a shared vision for the future of nursing.

The partnership aims to sustainably strengthen the nursing profession in Middle Franconia and further develop nursing care through highly qualified nursing professionals. At the same time, the goal is to make academic career paths in nursing more attractive and to specifically promote the scientific qualifications of nursing professionals.

“With this collaboration, we are laying the groundwork for integrating scientific findings even more closely into nursing practice and specifically preparing nursing professionals for the increasing demands of modern healthcare systems,” explains Prof. Dr. rer. medic. Julia Nagel, Professor of Nursing with a focus on outpatient and inpatient long-term care at Hof University of Applied Sciences.

“Our shared goal is to sustainably integrate innovative and evidence-based nursing into everyday care.”

Closer integration of science and practice

As part of the collaboration, participating students will acquire in-depth nursing competencies and learn to apply scientific methods in a practical context. The knowledge gained is intended to be specifically transferred into clinical care to more firmly anchor innovative and evidence-based nursing approaches in daily practice. In addition, the collaboration ensures that all participating students can seamlessly continue their education with an advanced certificate program in psychiatry. This builds specialized expertise that can be directly applied in clinical practice.

Focus on Psychiatric Care

A particular focus of the collaboration is on training nursing professionals in the field of psychiatric care. In this way, both partners are responding to the growing demands of modern, patient-centered psychiatric care.

“Psychiatric nursing faces complex challenges that require a high level of specialized knowledge and scientific expertise. Through our partnership with Hof University of Applied Sciences, we are creating attractive development opportunities for our staff while simultaneously enhancing the quality of care for our patients.”

Contribution to the Advancement of Nursing

The partnership between Hof University of Applied Sciences and the Mittelfranken District Clinics exemplifies close collaboration between academia and clinical practice. Both institutions are thus making an important contribution to the qualitative advancement of nursing care as well as to the long-term assurance of modern, evidence-based healthcare in the region.
