Today, Tuesday, 01.10.2024, the Bavarian universities of applied sciences start the winter semester and Hof University of Applied Sciences is celebrating an anniversary: Exactly 30 years ago, the first lectures took place at the newly founded university in the winter semester 1994/95 in the Business Administration course!
Today, we are welcoming around 1,000 first-year students to Hof Campus as part of our induction days for the winter semester 2024/25. Students in the higher semesters will start their courses on Monday, 07.10.2024.
In total, around 3,800 students are currently enrolled at Hof University of Applied Sciences.
I am delighted that this winter semester we are once again recording constant student numbers compared to the previous year, both in terms of first-semester students and the total number of students. The proportion of international students at our university is just under 40% (from 70 nations), which is above the Bavarian average and is due in particular to our focus on India. Overall, Hof University of Applied Sciences enjoys great recognition and popularity in its home region and has strengthened its position there and beyond.”

Induction days 2024
Successful studies begin with a good start, and this is precisely why the induction days have been held for several years. These will take place on Tuesday, 01.10.2024 from 09.15 a.m. for the “Erstis” at Campus Hof. All first-year students on Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses are invited. On Wednesday, 02.10.2024, the newcomers will start at their study locations in Hof, Kronach, Münchberg or Selb.
The induction days offer new students important orientation and structure for the start of the semester. They help them to quickly find their way around Hof University of Applied Sciences and ensure a smooth start to their studies. They also offer the opportunity to make initial contacts – often the start of friendships or study groups that accompany your studies. You should therefore not miss them!
Welcome party of the city
In 2024, the city of Hof is once again inviting all first-semester students to a welcome party, this time with the Raver’s Nature DJ team, at Theater Hof on the evening of October 2, 2024. Last year’s premiere turned out to be a successful celebration, where you could not only get to know the location and Hof’s leisure activities, but also many fellow students. The party starts at 19:00.
