For the second time, the “Mobility Days Hof Land” are taking place in the city and district of Hof as part of the European Mobility Week of the Federal Environment Agency. This year, the student initiative HofSpannung Motorsport e.V. is also participating. The focus is on decentralized events for all citizens who want to find out about climate- and environmentally-friendly forms of transportation and also try them out for themselves
The “Hofer Land Mobility Days” program takes place at various locations and facilities in the city of Hof and the Hofer district.
Strengthening sustainable mobility
By taking part in the campaign, organizers and participants are underlining their claim to promote sustainable, alternative mobility in the Hofer Land region and to strengthen climate protection. The program includes, for example, a bike repair café and a bike wash, a bike tour around Hof and a bike tour with a visit to renewable energy plants, an e-bike riding technique course and mountain bike safety training. Cycle ball and lectures on cycling as well as an exhibition of historic bicycles round out the program. Interested parties can also rent e-bikes in the Hof suburb.
Lots of action in nature
You can experience nature in the region in an environmentally friendly way with trial paddling, herb, alpaca and llama hikes, a ranger tour in the Franconian Forest Nature Park and a walk in the valley of the Lettenbach past the water supply, glass bead production and brickworks. A climate service, jogging and trash collection with the police and after-work forest bathing are also on the program.
HofSpannung e.V. informs about e-mobility
The car dealerships in the Hof region, the Hof University of Applied Sciences, the Bund Naturschutz, the Shuttle Model Region Upper Franconia and the Logistics Agency Upper Franconia will be focusing on the mobility of the future with lectures and information events. The student initiative HofSpannung Motorsport e.V. represents the Hof University of Applied Sciences and is organizing an information evening on the topic of e-mobility on Tuesday, 29.09.2022 at 6 p.m. in the Digital Founders Center “Einstein1”, which is specifically dedicated to the areas of “e-racing car and driving simulator”.
Hof schools participate
Hof schools also engage in environmental activities during the Mobility Days. For example, fourth-grade students from the Neustadt School are plogging (jogging and collecting trash) together with the AZV at the Theresienstein. Jean-Paul-Gymnasium does a mobility game with classes from Neustadt School. The Münsterschule also takes part in the mobility days.
