As part of the course “Polymer Matrix Composites” (master’s program in composites), students gave various presentations on composites topics in the winter semester 2020/2021. The focus was on topics such as recycling of polymer matrix composites, joining processes for the production of hybrid materials, composite materials in modern construction and the challenges regarding thermal insulation and fire protection or biopolymers for composites. Unfortunately, due to corona, all lectures took place online only.
The presentation of Andre Ehgartner with the topic “Joining processes for the production of hybrid materials (hybrid construction, lightweight construction, CFRP-steel, CFRP-aluminum, CFRP-CFRP) – challenges and new developments” was chosen as the best presentation by all presenting students. In recognition of this, he received a set of headphones from the Freundeskreis zur Internationalisierung des Textilkompetenzzentrums Münchberg an der Hochschule Hof e.V. (Friends of the Internationalization of the Textile Competence Center Münchberg at Hof University of Applied Sciences), which he can certainly put to good use for his online work in times of the Corona pandemic
