The Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der Hochschule Hof e.V. will continue to support a large number of projects at Hof University of Applied Sciences in 2025. In total, the society will provide 75,000 euros to support students, research and teaching as well as many innovative initiatives. The funds flow into various areas – from technical innovations and cultural and social projects to the international networking of the educational institution.
“In order to keep our region competitive and worth living in, it is important to support Hof University of Applied Sciences and its students in the best possible way,” emphasizes Andreas Pöhlmann, Chairman of the Society of Friends and Sponsors. And further:

Diverse projects benefit
The sponsored projects include the student motorsport team HofSpannung e.V., which is once again being supported with 10,000 euros for the development of a new electric racing car. The university’s own MakerSpace, a workshop for tinkering and developing, will also receive funding of 7,500 euros to expand its technical equipment. “Another important project is the student café “Zur Auszeit”, which is being funded with 10,000 euros,” says Andreas Pöhlmann. Among other things, the funds will be used to design a cozy outdoor area for summer catering.

The sponsoring society was also on board with the “Uni4Mind” project, which promotes the mental health of students. Here too, the local measures were supported with 10,000 euros.
Strengthening international cooperation
Last but not least, the area of international cooperation benefits from the long-term support of the “Friends and Sponsors”: The “International Teaching Week”, which will take place from May 19 to 23, 2025 under the title “AI Odyssey: Understand, Create, Explore!”, will be supported with 12,000 euros. This time, many international students will be involved as part of an Erasmus program. In addition, the first international nursing congress at Hof University of Applied Sciences (2,500 euros), the university band “HofStadtFunk” (3,000 euros) and various events to retain students in the region (“Go2Hof4ever”, 2,000 euros) will also receive financial support. At 18,000 euros, the largest single amount goes towards laboratory equipment for the Institute for Circular Economy of Bio:Polymers (ibp).
