Title defended: Hof University once again voted Germany’s most popular university!

The joy is great and the “mission to defend the title” has been successful! Hof University of Applied Sciences is the most popular university in Germany for the second year in a row and thus continues to receive the highest marks for its teaching nationwide. This is the result of the ranking published today by the renowned internet portal Studycheck.de. In a comparison of all German colleges and universities, the Upper Franconian educational institution with its campuses in Hof, Münchberg, Kronach and Selb once again achieved the best rating from current and former students. Hof University of Applied Sciences had already received the coveted title a year ago, which it has now become only the second educational institution ever to defend in the history of the survey.

The ranking is based on all the experience reports published on StudyCheck.de in the past calendar year 2023 – a total of over 78,000 entries. Hof University of Applied Sciences received almost 296 of these reviews – 250 are required to be included in the overall ranking. According to the portal, the ranking of the individual universities is then determined by the so-called score value, which is formed by the star rating and the recommendation rate of the students. A total of 102 colleges and universities made it into the studycheck ranking.

Extremely high recommendation rate

Hof University of Applied Sciences achieved an excellent result here: with an average of 4.4 out of 5 stars and a recommendation rate of an incredible 97 percent, it leads the field of all German universities and colleges.

University President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann is delighted with the award:

Anyone who defends the title of Germany’s most popular university in the highly competitive German education sector must be doing something right. We are extremely pleased that we were able to confirm last year’s fantastic result and once again achieve the top spot in the truly recognized studycheck.de ranking. Of course, we could not have expected this. We would like to thank our students and alumni for their very positive evaluations. It is a good feeling that our teaching continues to be recognized in this form by our most important target group, the students.”

Prof. Dr. Dietmar Wolff, Vice President Teaching, adds:

There is no higher accolade for a university when almost all students say during or after their studies: “I can only recommend studying at Hof University of Applied Sciences, I felt very well looked after there in terms of professional competence and family atmosphere! To receive the best ratings in the country here twice in a row is something very special. Of course, we want to prove the high quality again and again.”
