“NextGen Polymers” – focus on research, sustainability and future materials

The Institute for Circular Economy of Bio:Polymers (ibp) at Hof University of Applied Sciences invites you to the event “NextGen Polymers” on November 24, 2025 at 5:00 pm in the Audimax B of the university. Participation is free of charge. With this new platform for future-oriented research, sustainable materials and interdisciplinary exchange, the ibp is sending a clear signal for scientific dialog on the materials of tomorrow.

The event will focus on questions relating to sustainable materials, resource-saving materials, circular product design and innovative processing technologies. It will also open up new perspectives on the role of polymers in an increasingly circular economy.

Competence center for sustainable materials research

The Institute for Circular Economy of Bio:Polymers (ibp) at Hof University of Applied Sciences is regarded as a leading competence center for sustainable materials research. With interdisciplinary projects at the interface of chemistry, engineering and environmental technology, the institute develops innovative solutions for a resource-efficient and environmentally friendly future. The “NextGen Polymers” event offers insights into current research topics, shows new ways of dealing with plastics and promotes the exchange between science, industry and the interested public.

Impulses from research and practice

As part of the program, Institute Director Prof. Dr. Michael Nase will present ibp’s current research priorities and future projects. Prof. Florian Puch will address the challenges and solutions of sustainable fibre composites in a lecture, while Dr. Armin Zankel will shed light on the contribution of electron microscopic polymer characterization to scientific and economic progress. A concluding panel discussion with guests from research and industry will provide an opportunity for professional exchange.

Afterwards, all participants are cordially invited to a get-together with music, a regional buffet and numerous networking opportunities.
