Once again, Hof University of Applied Sciences is delighted to receive a generous donation from VR Bank Bayreuth-Hof eG: as in previous years, the regional bank presented the educational institution with a symbolic donation cheque for 5,000 euros. This time, the amount will be used to purchase a so-called "Crockmeter". [more]

The 42nd Winter Championships of the Bavarian universities took place in Bayerisch Eisenstein in 2026 and were hosted by Landshut University of Applied Sciences. In wintry conditions and a great atmosphere, employees from all over Bavaria came together to compete in various sporting disciplines and promote cross-university exchange. Since 2008, Hof University of Applied Sciences has been pursuing a clear focus on sustainable action with the mission statement of the "Green Tech University". This mission statement forms the basis for creating a long-term balance between ecological, social and economic requirements. The university-specific sustainability strategy has created a framework with concrete measures to systematically promote sustainable development and anchor it in everyday university life in the long term. According to Sustainability Manager Anja Grabmeier, the focus here is on the "whole institution approach". [more]

With KICKSTART, Hof University of Applied Sciences has launched a funding program that starts at a very early stage of a potential start-up - with the development of ideas and prototypes. The KICKSTART teams have six months to develop their idea into an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) or prototype.

The 38th Hof Nonwovens Days took place in the Freiheitshalle on November 5 and 6, 2025. The renowned specialist event is one of the most important industry meetings for nonwovens in Europe and brings together experts from industry, research and development. This year, over 350 participants from companies and institutes from 10 countries were welcomed. [more]

Andrea Graf, Head of Human Resources, honored Holger Karl, an employee of the ITSO department, for his 25 years of public service. She presented him with a certificate of thanks from the Free State of Bavaria and thanked him for his many years of commitment to the university. Fun fact: Andrea Graf was also the person who hired Mr. Karl at the university almost 25 years ago. [more]

The new series of events was organized by the IHK for Upper Franconia Bayreuth and Hof University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with the HWK for Upper Franconia.
