The newly formed leadership of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts for Upper Franconia (HWK) is currently making a total of 25 inaugural visits to the region. Most recently, the Hof University of Applied Sciences was on the agenda of the newly elected HWK Vice President Christian Herpich and HWK Managing Director Dr. Bernd Sauer. In a detailed discussion with university president Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.. Jürgen Lehmann, the topics of continuing vocational training and the question of future networking between the skilled trades and academic teaching were discussed in particular.
“A better interlocking of these areas has a high importance for the business location Upper Franconia”, Christian Herpich is convinced. For this reason – according to the agreement of both sides – there will be a round table towards the end of the current year, in which representatives of the skilled trades and Hof University of Applied Sciences would like to exchange ideas about the possibilities of stronger cooperation
The joint use of technology or existing training workshops are to be discussed for the future, as is cooperation in the areas of digitization, business start-ups or further training.”
Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Lehmann
In any case, the many lines of connection between the skilled trades and SMEs in the Hof area should be used and expanded, the participants in the discussion said in unison.
