On 16.10.2025, a new landmark was unveiled in front of the Einstein1 Digital Start-up Center building on the university campus: the “EINSTEIN Obelisk”. The monument is symbolic of growth, success and innovation – key values that characterize the start-up center and the regional start-up scene.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the newly formed Einstein1 team as well as the partners Mayor Eva Döhla and District Administrator Dr. Oliver Bär. The obelisk was officially unveiled together with Managing Director Achim Hager and Scientific Director Prof. Dr. Michael Seidel.
The EINSTEIN is a visible sign of the dynamism and forward-looking spirit that we want to promote in the Hof region. It stands for the continuous development of our founders, partners and the entire network.
The inauguration was followed by a convivial get-together with burgers and networking, where guests, founders and partners exchanged ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
Before the evening drew to a close, an exciting event with Tomislav Lang, founder and CEO of flyVbird, took place. In his inspiring presentation, he provided insights into the company’s business model and vision – in particular, how he is working with Hof-Plauen Airport to revitalize and reposition it.
The day at Einstein1 showed once again how innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and regional collaboration can go hand in hand – in line with the Digital Start-up Center’s mission to actively shape the future of the region.
