Since the start of the winter semester 2025/26, we have welcomed a new professor to the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. Prof. Dr. Roland Fischer is Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The 49-year-old comes from Lauf an der Pegnitz.
Roland Fischer studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, specializing in production management and manufacturing technology, and completed his doctorate in logistics and wireless technologies. At Fraunhofer, he was Managing Director of the Supply Chain Services working group, after which he was responsible for the Risk & Location Analysis department at Fraunhofer IIS, which conducts research into civil security issues. Prior to his academic career, Fischer was a partner in Auer und Fischer Zweiradhandel GbR.
