Inquiry: What is a research map?

As the organizational centers of the science system, the universities that make up the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) carry out the majority of scientific research in Germany. The aim of the research map is to record the diversity of these research activities at universities and make them easily accessible. Our university is also listed on this map with three key research areas. [more]

Ukrainian-German cooperation for sustainable water technologies

Three Ukrainian researchers visited the Institute for Sustainable Water Systems in May as part of the project "German-Ukrainian Strategy for Phosphorus Reduction in the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluent (DeUS-Phor)". During the visit to Germany, the participants agreed to draw up a project proposal for an exchange for internships and master's courses and to submit a joint application to Horizon Europe or Eureka next year. “SkateDays” on June 21/22: “Pump tracks are the perfect gym – only cooler!”

On June 21 and 22, the skate park at the Hofer Eisteich will become a hotspot for action, style and innovation: At Skatedays 2025, spectacular tricks will also meet scientific curiosity: The event will be accompanied by an exciting research project at Hof University of Applied Sciences, which will analyze the movement sequences when skating in pump tracks. Science at the other end of the world – ibp at the “PPS-40” in Auckland

The Institute for Circular Economy at Bio:Polymer (ibp) was represented by Benedikt Hiller and David Krieg at the 40th International Conference of the Polymer Processing Society (PPS-40) in Auckland. The two research assistants traveled a total of 38 hours to the other side of the world to New Zealand to present and discuss their research work on sustainable plastics. [more]

City lecture: A return to nuclear power – a good alternative?

The energy transition is polarizing the current political debate. While fossil fuels are experiencing a resurgence in the USA, wind, photovoltaics and the use of biomass to generate energy are being expanded in Germany. In the past, this has led to enormous price increases in electricity costs. The series of city lectures at Hof University of Applied Sciences is now discussing whether a return to nuclear power makes sense. [more]
