#kickstart2024: With a financial boost towards founding a company

Making refrigeration processes more efficient and sustainable: Propane refrigeration plant inaugurated

As part of a network meeting of the EnerNET project at the end of June, a new test and research facility was inaugurated and put into operation at the Münchberg campus, in whose high-tech laboratories the Institute for Hydrogen and Energy Technology at Hof University of Applied Sciences (iwe) is currently still based until the new building at the Hof campus is completed. Textile floating islands: students develop innovation for the city of the future

Floating islands in the middle of the campus? What looks like an art project at first glance is actually an innovative contribution to sustainable urban development. Inwa: Ukrainian-German cooperation for sustainable water use

At the end of June, Dr. Harvey Harbach, research group leader at the Institute for Sustainable Water Systems (inwa), welcomed Ukrainian researchers to the university as part of the project "Integration of the 'sponge city' concept to develop a model for the sustainable restoration and management of water resources in areas of Ukraine affected by military impacts (IKoMoWa)". Research for rail transport: Sustainable noise protection for the trains of the future

In the "RuhBio" research project, scientists at Hof University of Applied Sciences are working together with industrial partners to develop innovative nonwoven materials for rail transportation. The goal is ambitious: Conventional soundproofing elements, such as those currently used in trains, are to be replaced by a sustainable, bio-based alternative. [more]

Ukrainian-German cooperation for sustainable water technologies

Three Ukrainian researchers visited the Institute for Sustainable Water Systems in May as part of the project "German-Ukrainian Strategy for Phosphorus Reduction in the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluent (DeUS-Phor)". During the visit to Germany, the participants agreed to draw up a project proposal for an exchange for internships and master's courses and to submit a joint application to Horizon Europe or Eureka next year.
