A success story: smartlytic GmbH celebrates its 5th anniversary

The Hof IT company smartlytic celebrated its 5th anniversary on 22.02.2022. The special thing about it: The three founders Dr. Dirk Reinel, Johannes Drescher and Dr. Florian Wogenstein are pure home-growns of Hof University. They have remained loyal to the university to this day, as evidenced not least by joint projects such as the nationwide headache registry or a study on corona vaccine breakthroughs. [more]

Faculty of economics dismisses two professors into retirement

Hof University of Applied Sciences strengthens the Bavarian local heating sector

At the beginning of 2022, the Institute for Water and Energy Management at Hof University of Applied Sciences will launch a project focusing on regenerative local heating networks. The goal of the project team, which currently consists of four members, is the transfer of knowledge and the further training of all players, from manufacturers to operators, as well as the networking and strengthening of the Bavarian local heating sector. “Capture the flag” hacker game: Think like real attackers!

The three winning teams in the "Capture the flag" hacker competition in the IT security elective module have been determined: For one week, a total of 16 students, divided into nine teams, trained the mindset of hackers and attacked real security systems. [more]
